How could the situation have been misconstrued so badly?

12 years minus one day since the last time I heard your voice, the last "hey", my last I love you too Mom, the words part of me regret by reassuring you I support your decision to welcome the evil back into your life, knowing it would lead to your demise. I was so proud that you were making a plan, not to die, but to live. Had your life not been taken from us, I believe you would have thrived. It's the things in life that don't make sense that we can't let go of. For example, how does a letter that was written on July 19, 2013 (letter is dated) and delivered to the intended party (in person), end up back in the writer's possession on the day he died on August 17, 2013 (yes, they got it wrong)? In your darkest hours, you scoffed at the thought of leaving a letter, yet there it was. Moreso, said letter was neatly placed on the kitchen table (no pen in the general vicinity) with a white fedora (which was no longer in the apartment along with other personal items not belonging to Brent removed) also strategically placed next to it (with a thumb print on the brim) and a chair also strategically placed next to the table in front of said letter to appear as if the letter was written that night as a suicide note. Said letter was clearly edited from its original content words scribbled out (where is the pen with all of the other perfectly placed items?) This is the beginning of the story I have been waiting to share for 12 long agonizing years. Not based on pure speculation or lack of acceptance, but facts, unexplained and overlooked evidence from law enforcement and medical professionals. SECRETS are not only for song lyrics.
In an alleged moment of chaos, how does one become so meticulous? Note the other items strewn across the table? He was making a plan (in writing) to get help to get sober and make a new life for himself. He offered titles to vehicles and personal property to be sold to ensure he had a place to come home to, stating those items were left on the table to be picked up. Guess what, they weren't there, is that why the other items on the table were flung across the table, in anger, no monetary gain? Kitchen photo to apply your own perception.
